Knowing the Battle is Won

Ephesians 6:10-20

We can read God’s word and meditate upon it, but if we do not hide it in our hearts, (memorize it) than we don’t know how to recall it in the heat of the battle.

Therefore, let’s each take the time to memorize the armor of God as we continue to read through and study Ephesians 6:10-20

To begin our memorization, let’s start with verses 10 & 11. (They are underlined below.)

The easiest way to memorize the verses is by writing them down.  Begin with writing the reference (Ephesians 6:10-11) and then write the verses.  Write them several times a day for the rest of this week.  By Sunday you should have one of God’s promises to you memorized. And then when you are feeling weak or weary just recall those verses to remind you that your strength comes from the Lord.  It will remind you to put on God’s armor so that He will empower you to be able to stand firm against the devil.

Read through verses 10-20 and then begin writing.

Ephesians 6:10-20

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.  Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore, take up the full armor of God; that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace;  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the  opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

As you memorize God’s word you will understand and know the battle is won.
